“We were delighted that
Soar Media accepted the challenge to play a key partnership role to raise
the national profile of the
Special Olympics. We couldn’t have been in
better hands.”
Steve Humphries, Games Director
Special Olympics 2009
Soar Media sourced, wrote and edited three newsletters, called SO Let’s Go, in the build up to the 2009 Special Olympics, which were held in Leicester. Content included interviews with athletes and local sports stars, such as Steve Walsh and Alan Birchenall MBE.
We also sourced content, wrote articles and edited the Olympics’ Official 36-page Souvenir Programme. The programme included a look at the history of the competition, provided details of the events and the city of Leicester, and featured interviews with local athletes, VIP’s and England goalkeeper and Special Olympics Ambassador, David James.
Our staff also helped generate advertising for the publication from local, national and international companies, raising valuable funds for Special Olympics Leicester.
The Soar team also edited, designed, coded and distributed a regular Special Olympics eNewsletter, tracking the build up to the competition and keeping people informed of the latest news.
