DOUBLE RECOGNITION FOR ‘CITY’

Watford-MM‘City’ Matchday Magazine, the official matchday publication of Leicester City Football Club, has received further recognition this week, just days after being named as runner-up in the Football League’s Championship Programme of the Season.

The 84-page magazine, available for all 28 of the Foxes’ home fixtures during the 2012/13 campaign, has been named Championship Programme of the Year by Soccer Club Swap Shop, surpassing publications produced by Watford and Peterborough United, who came second and third respectively.

‘City’ has also been listed joint-top of a list of 30 nationwide programmes, comprising clubs from all divisions across the country, sharing a spot at the summit alongside Premier League Sunderland.

Designed and edited by Soar Media, in partnership with Leicester City’s media team, club historians and official photographic supplier, Plumb Images, the latest accolade is the publication’s seventh element of recognition this term.

mmIn addition to the latest award, ‘City’ has also been placed on a five-name shortlist for a prestigious regional accolade.

The matchday magazine has been nominated for Magazine or Supplement of the Year at the forthcoming 2013 Midlands Media Awards, which take place at Villa Park on Thursday 13th June.

The Foxes’ publication will go up against lifestyle publications from Birmingham, Nottingham, Derbyshire and Leicestershire.
