Dean-DadSoar Media Communications Director, Dean Eldredge, is preparing to undergo a gruelling trek this October, as he plans to journey across the Great Wall of China in aid of local charity, Vista.

Trekking in memory of his grandfather (pictured) who sadly passed away in January, Dean will be journeying across 38 miles over the course of six days, equating to an average of between six and eight hours of ground covered per-day.

The journey will include steep inclines and difficult terrain; whilst the Great Wall of China’s high altitude will generate its own challenge.

Leicestershire-based charity Vista provides services, support, advice and wcinformation to almost 6000 registered blind and partially sighted local people.

“Vista is a wonderful charity, independent, and often overlooked,” said Dean.

“They supported my granddad during his last few months and he often talked about how kind Vista were to him. The care and attention they showed to him enabled my granddad to experience some enjoyment during his last few months. I hope that by doing this, I will be able to raise money to help others to benefit from their amazing services and support.”
