BEFRIENDING PROJECT MAKES HUGE IMPACT
A lottery-funded project, carried out by Leicestershire sight-loss charity, Vista, has made an impact to the lives of many blind and partially-sighted people across the region.
The Befriending Project pairs one of Vista’s many volunteers with people who may be blind or partially-sighted, so as to help them towards their individual goals.
Brian Christian has been a Befriending Project volunteer for 17 months, matching with Jean Egglestone throughout, and Irene Southerington for the past year.
“Brian is very good,” said Jean. “He is thoughtful and does what he can for me. Meeting together is a big help because I don’t go out much.”
