CHARITY TREK RAISES OVER £3,500 FOR VISTA
Soar Media director Dean Eldredge’s charity trek across the Great Wall of China has raised over £3,500 for Leicestershire sight-loss charity, Vista.
Dean journeyed across the famous landmark accompanied by his fiancée, Sarah, who was raising money for the Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund, over the course of six days.
Covering 38 miles of steep inclines, tough terrain and facing high altitudes, Dean raised an incredible £3,563.06, which included funds donated through a charity Q&A evening held at the Dunton Bassett Arms featuring Neil Back, Gerry Taggart and Paul Nixon.
Dean said: “I’d like to say a big thank you everybody who donated to Sarah and I, with a special mention to Rob Wann who was a fantastic host and supporter in the build-up to the trek. The causes we raised money for were very personal to both of us and we have been taken aback by everybody’s generosity. Whilst the journey itself was challenging, it provided an experience that neither of us will forget. I hope the money raised goes some way in helping Vista continue the outstanding work that they’re doing in the region.”
