YOU’RE NEVER TOO OLD
Leicester-Shire and Rutland Sport (LRS) celebrated the county’s oldest athletes and most active participants at an awards ceremony in Loughborough on Thursday 2nd October, ranging from people aged 50 to an incredible 96.
The Oldest Athlete Award was presented to Harold Veazey, 96, from Melton who attends his local gym three times a week using both CV equipment and weights, whilst playing an important role in the gym’s friendly atmosphere. A range of awards were presented on the night and some fantastic achievements were acknowledged in Leicestershire.
Amongst the invited guests were Olympic and Commonwealth Games GB swimmers Amy Smith and Joe Roebuck, who presented a range of awards.
